Online Banking FAQs What is Online Banking? Online Banking is a real-time online system that allows our customers a secure and convenient way to access their Palos Bank accounts via the Internet. Online Banking is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some of the features available through Online Banking include:
Is there a fee for Online Banking? Online Banking is FREE! Do I have to register to use Online Banking? Yes, a one-time application is required to sign up for Online Banking. The application must be signed for proper authorization and delivered in person, by fax, or by mail to any of our bank locations. Once your application is received by the bank, you should receive your Online Banking ID and password by mail within 2-3 business days. I am having difficulty logging into my online account. What do I do? There may be several reasons you are experiencing difficulty logging into your Online Banking session. If you complete the ID field and click submit and your computer does not seem to do anything, the problem may be your browser. We have found that users with Internet Explorer version 6.0 or XP need to complete one of the following two options:
Why does it say "Your Account is Currently Locked" when I try to log into Online Banking? As a security measure, accounts will lock for several reasons, such as inactivity or the incorrect password being entered three times in a row. If your account is locked, please call our Personal Banking Department at 708 448-9100 during business hours. Upon proper identification, we will be happy to unlock the account and reset the password. This is only for the security of our customers. We apologize for any inconvenience. Why do I have to change my password to 8 digits? As an upgraded security measure, Palos Bank requires all Online Banking users to update their passwords and make them 8 digits. You will be prompted every 180 days to make a password change. What kind of browser do I need? You will need a connection to the Internet and a Web Browser that supports 128-bit SSL encryption. Netscape Navigator 4 (or higher) or Microsoft Explorer 4 (or higher) both support this type of encryption. You may contact either of these vendors for a free browser upgrade. Online Banking works on any operating system that supports the browsers listed above including, but not limited to, Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP, and Macintosh. What happens if I forget my password? You are allowed 3 attempts to enter the correct password before your account will be locked. If you cannot remember your password and/or you are locked out of the system, please contact our Personal Banking Department at (708) 448-9100 during business hours. What happens if I don’t log off the system? Online Banking has a 10-minute time out feature. If the system has been inactive for over 10 minutes, the user will be required to re-enter their ID and password. How secure is Online Banking? The security of your personal and financial information has always been our top priority. State-of-the-art technology is used to keep your information secure. All sensitive and personal information is encrypted, and access requires passwords that only you know. In addition, your account numbers, Social Security numbers, and Tax ID numbers are never displayed on the online system. We've provided an extra level of security with the following new features, allowing you to continue to bank online safely and securely from anywhere: Only the ID field will display on the login page. The Password field will display next to a default personal image after you enter your ID. After login, you'll be prompted to choose your own image. Seeing this image each time you login will let you know that you are on our website. After a brief monitoring period, you will be prompted to select some personal verification questions. During a future login or transaction, we'll ask you to answer these questions if we don't recognize your computer or location, or if you are attempting to complete a transaction for which we need a second level of authorization. However, if you feel your information has been jeopardized in any way, please contact our Personal Banking Department immediately at (708) 448-9100 during business hours.
